Deok-Vin Lee is a composer, currently based in Düsseldorf, Germany and in Graz, Austria. He was born and raised in South Korea.
His artistic practice includes examinations of the bodily limits, aesthetic usage of robots, reflections of sarcasm, sex, and religion, mainly focusing on time-based stage arts. His approach is borderless, embracing various media such as instruments, bodies, objects, electronics, light, video, webpage, mechanics, and robotics.
He has collaborated with numerous artists and ensembles: Franziska Baumann, ensemble Recherche, ensemble Adapter, Proton ensemble, Names ensemble, Moscow contemporary music ensemble, Neue Vocalsolisten, Auditivvokal, Lucerne festival alumni ensemble, and others.
He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (Dr. artium, artistic-scholarly research).
